One Day Surgery Unit

The One Day Surgery Unit at Trinity Medical Center is located on the second floor in the main tower.  The unit is designed to accommodate patients who are having an outpatient surgical procedure performed.  Patients may or may not require an overnight hospital stay. 

One Day Surgery patients come to the unit the morning of their surgery and are usually discharged the same day.  Most patients arrive at the hospital approximately an hour and a half before the procedure is scheduled.  Patients requiring general anesthesia or sedation are asked to bring a care partner with them.  A care partner is someone over the age of 18 who can remain with you during your visit and be responsible for driving you home after you are discharged.

Hours of Operation:  5:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Points to remember on your day of surgery:

1.  Those patients having general anesthesia or sedation should remember not to have anything to eat or drink after midnight on the day of surgery. 

2.  You should bring all of the medications you are currently taking with you. 

3.  Leave valuables at home including jewelry, credit cards, and large sums of money.

4.  Bring a care partner with you.
