Smartscore Cardiac Scoring

Which one of you will be around for their graduation?

Every year, 1.5 million Americans have heart attacks and 500,000 of those people die. Frighteningly, many of those who suffer a heart attack have no warning signs and no symptoms until it's too late. One of the major contributors to heart disease is arteriosclerosis or the build-up of plaque in the arteries. Arteriosclerosis is a silent disease but if diagnosed, can be halted and in some cases, reversed.

Trinity now has a way for you to know more about your heart that could prove to be a lifesaver. Smartscore is cardiac calcium scoring that measures the amounts of calcium in the coronary arteries, the same calcium that contributes to plaque build-up. This unique test can even identify those with no symptoms of heart disease at an early stage.

Smartscore is a simple test requiring no preparation on your part and it takes less than five minutes for the actual scan. Your test results are ready within the hour. The test is safe, simple and painless.

The Smartscore test results will provide you and your physician two important pieces of information that are key to your heart health: the presence or absence of coronary calcium in your heart and the degree of calcification in your heart. On the day of your test, you will receive a complete report including your images on a CD and your personalized report and information about your heart health and healthy living tips. Based on the findings and other risk factors, your physician will make recommendations concerning lifestyle changes, medication and the need for additional cardiac testing.
