SERVICES AVAILABLE:

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT): Allows the delivery of extremely precise doses of radiation that can destroy cells while minimizing harm to surrounding normal and healthy tissues.

High Dose Rate Brachy Therapy: Radiation Therapy System (RTS) treats diagnosed areas such as Lung, Breast, Vaginal, Prostate, and Rectal with the use of Ir-192 Source.

Mammosite Radiation Therapy: After a Lumpectomy, an uninflated MammoSite RTS balloon is placed inside the tumor resection cavity. The applicator shaft tube connected to the balloon remains outside the breast. A contrast agent is inserted through the applicator. The contrast helps the doctor to see the MammoSite balloon more clearly. The balloon is filled to fit the edges of the cavity. The balloon remains inflated for the entire time a patient is receiving radiation therapy. The patient is connected to the HDR machine and treated twice a day for five days, rather than the usual six weeks.

Prostate Seed Implants: This is an internal radiation procedure. The patient receives a spinal or general anesthetic. Needles are used to permanently implant radioactive seeds in the prostate. It is a minimally invasive therapy that lasts approximately one hour and is performed in One Day Surgery.

CT Simulation and Treatment Planning: Provides functions which are similar to conventional X-Ray simulation. The CT scanner and treatment system is capable of producing real-time virtual digitally reconstructed radiographs (DRR).

INTRABEAM Radiation Therapy: Intraoperative radiation for breast cancer available to women with early stage disease who are candidates for breast conserving surgery.  A growing number of women eligible for this option choose this innovative, single-treatment radiation therapy-delivered internally while still on the operating table-with some important benefits over a six and a half week course of conventional external radiation therapy.
     * Powerful, immediate, precise
     * Immediate radation treatment provided during surgery
     * Precisely targeted radiation delivered internal directly into the tumor bed
     * Elimination of post-surgical 6 1/2 week course of external radiation therapy
     * Less risk of radation exposure to healthy tissue
     * Minimal risk of skin irritation
     * Elimination of treatment delay for patients undergoing chemotherapy
