Diagnostic Radiology
The Diagnostic Radiology Department offers all types of radiographic procedures including routine x-rays, fluoroscopic examinations, emergency services, and portable x-rays including procedures done in the surgical suites. All of our staff are board certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and uphold the highest standards of care for our patients.
Located on the ground floor, the Diagnostic Department is easily accessable for outpatients as well as Emergency Room patients and in-house patients.
During your exam, you will be asked to position the part of your body being examined in certain positions while the x-ray is being made. Some examinations are performed while standing, others while sitting next to a table, and others while lying on an x-ray examination table. You will not feel the x-rays but may feel the film tray vibrate or hear the rotor inside the x-ray tube.
At times, your physician may order contrast to be injected into a vein to see your blood vessels. Normally, you may feel a flushed feeling during the injection which will go away almost immediately after the injection is completed. Your technologist will be glad to answer any questions you have about your test.
